The Sampson & Ludgate project (also known as Bankside Yards) is a 1.4m sq ft development at the southern end of Blackfriars Bridge, between the Tate Modern and Oxo Tower. The PLP-designed master plan comprises nine buildings across the current Sampson & Ludgate sites, ranging from seven to 50-storey towers. These will provide over 500 new homes alongside office, cultural, leisure and retail spaces, all arranged around a new landscaped public realm with new pedestrian links to the River Thames.
MSMR has been appointed by Native Land as interior architect on the tallest of the nine towers. This residential building at the centre of the cluster comprises 240 apartments and associated residents’ amenity spaces.
The design will optimise the floorplans to create generous and light living spaces which maximise the panoramic views across London - the defining aspect of this prominent development.
