Location Whitehall
Client The Royal United Services Institute

Founded in 1830 by the Duke of Wellington, the Royal United Services Institute is the world’s oldest defence and security think-tank. Their Whitehall headquarters was purpose-built in 1895 to the designs of Sir Aston Webb.

The Grade II* listed building houses a lecture theatre, a library, various function rooms and office accommodation, and has been now comprehensively refurbished and extended. A new mansard storey has been added to the building and a dramatic glass dome to the rear.

MSMR's initial appointment was to design the interiors of this prestigious institution, however this role was subsequently expanded to include the coordination and delivery of the shell and core works.

Our service also included the provision of FF&E and assisting with the curation of the institute's art collection.
