On the Subject of Greatness

In 2018, we're supporting the New London Architecture Placemaking programme. Yesterday, as part of this programme, MSMR Director, James Bell joined a number of key figures from London's Great Estates to discuss how landowners shape the city and how London's historical estates are supporting its future growth. One of the key points that emerged from the conference was the importance of 'creating vibrant places with good, flexible buildings, cultural attractions, a mix of retail and residential and attractive public realm makes sound business as well as placemaking sense.' (NLA)

Directors from Grosvenor, The Bedford Estates and The Crown Estate discussed the changing landscape of the estates they manage. James Cooksey, Director of Central London, Crown Estate said they had to look at everything they do through the lens of the customer, to ensure the success of their portfolio. Speaking with reference to MSMR's work with the Crown Estate, James Bell said that they were 'trailblazers for sustainability' and that it was refreshing to work for a client who put this top of their agenda.

MSMR have several current projects with The Crown Estates including Morley House on Regent Street.
