MSMR has achieved planning consent for this 184-bed Apart Hotel development on a prominent site in Gibraltar. The 10-storey building will provide a mix of studios, one-bed and two-bed suites, each with its own terrace, along with a gym, meeting rooms, social areas and a rooftop terrace restaurant and bar.
Located close to Gibraltar’s airport, the consented scheme for Lester Hotels has its public facilities positioned at ground level in order to activate and animate the frontage on to Devil’s Tower Road.
Reflecting the geometry of the Rock, the building façade treatment features tessellated forms surrounding windows and balconies. In addition to creating visual interest, these recessed balconies will reduce solar gain while creating light and shade across the façade that will change character at different times of the day and season.
