Led by Director Simon Robinson, the MSMR project team celebrated reaching the highest point of One Bishopsgate Plaza scheme this week. In the pictures, Paul Sims, Operations Director for Lendlease leads the speeches at the Topping Out ceremony. Jonathan Eu, Investment Manager of UOL and Stuart Grant, Managing Director of Stanhope pour the final ceremonial concrete on the roof of the 42-storey tower. PLP Architects and members of the wider development team also attended to mark the major milestone on site.
Guests were able to enjoy the spectacular views across the City, including close-ups of the 'Gherkin' and 'Cheesegrater'. It was also an opportunity to pause and study the tower's form, which steps as it rises and features sharp angles and finned edges.
MSMR have designed for the residential element of the tower comprising 160 luxury apartments and private residents' amenities including a lounge and bar. The interior design draws inspiration from the geometry, patterns and shapes of the PLP-designed tower as well as the surrounding cityscape. Arranged above the new 5* Pan Pacific Hotel the apartments will offer access to the hotel services below.
MSMR is also providing full design and fit-out services for the hotel, working in close collaboration with Canadian designers Yabu Pushelberg. According to recent press, the hotel - the first Pan Pacific hotel in London - is due to launch in 2020.
