This is a mixed-use, 43-storey tower in the heart of the City of London. It comprises a 237-room, 5* luxury hotel and 160 apartments or ‘Sky Residences’. Arranged across the top 21 levels, the apartments have access to the hotel services below and private amenities above, including a residents’ lounge and bar.
MSMR’s design for the residentail element of One Bishopsgate Plaza is inspired by the geometry, patterns and shapes of the PLP-designed tower, as well as the spectacular views across the City. The sequence and proportion of spaces has been thoroughly considered and the selection of materials and finishes provide an elegant design response, appropriate to the context of the City and the way people live their lives.
As a result of work on the residential element of the tower, MSMR was appointed as delivery architects for Yabu Pushelberg’s interior concept for the hotel. London's first Pan Pacific hotel features an 18th-floor Signature Suite and a fourth-floor indoor pool, spa and fitness centre as well as a double-height, subterranean ballroom, (the only one within the Square Mile) which can accommodate 370 guests.
